Newsboys Update

October 29, 2009 Leave a comment

Three weeks ago American Athletics launched a customized Converse Canvas Chuck Taylor All Star with the Newsboys Logo on the side. Due to an error in the Press Release, the shoe was place on hold by Converse, and will be revisited for sale in the future.
AmericanAthletics.com has asked me to apologize to the Newsboys fans for the delay in this shoe being available. It looks great and I have a sample of my own which is a beautiful Red Canvas Chuck Taylor Low Top with the NB on the side.
NBCTAS

I am hoping to wear it in the future and to supply fans near and far with the shoe through Americanathletics.com.
Keep Praying.

Have You Noticed?

October 26, 2009 Leave a comment

For the last month it seems that every show on TV and every movie I rent or attend has a New Converse Chuck Taylor All Star on the foot of one of the stars. The latest was my rental of Slumdog Millionaire. Right smack dab in the middle or the scene at the Taj Mahal, there is a kid stealing a pair of Canvas Optic White Chucks. Will the appearance of the Chuck Taylor All Star never end?
No. Why should it? The shoe is the only one that transcends all people, continents, and even our own neighborhood. Try them again for the first time.
No matter what you call them Chucks to Skids, no matter what the language, they are still Americas best gift to the foot.

Jack Black and Green

October 17, 2009 Leave a comment

Did you see Jack Black on Jay Leno show last week? He wore the Greenest Green Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars I have ever seen. Kelly or Celtic, I don’t know what they are called, but I do know where to find them. I look at lot of web sites, especially those which sell Canvas Converse. The most unique selection comes from Americanathletics.com. Not because you can buy Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars in regular colors, but you can buy unusual, one of a kind Chucks.

Especially Bright green…Just like Jack Black. The craziest to put on The Cons. (No you are, no!………. you are.)

A little Chuck Nut

Chuck Nuts: Thank you for sending a great picture of an old Chuck Taylor All Star wearer holding a young lady, who is wearing her first pair of Chucks. They look “marvelous” together. All Stars look good on any kid, and make a statement that the parents are…well, all knowing.

generationchucksKeep the faith. Wear your All Stars.

Star, just in case you were wondering about this entry.)

Lum’s

Have you ever heard of LUM’S? This restaurant started in South Florida in the 60’s.. It became popular because of the hotdogs “steamed in beer” which was their flagship dish.
In the spring of 2009 LUM’S closed the last of their 500 restaurants. Some great things never last. NOT SO FAST MY READERS!
Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars have been on the feet of Americans and the world for over 100 years.
Isn’t it great to wear an American Icon of fashion on your feet ……. every day?
No matter what you call them, Chucks, Chucky T’s, Cons, All Stars, Lo rise kicks, or Converses as some of my friends say, they are still yours and mine. For some of us the first shoe ever put on our feet .

Go Chuck Taylor!

Hello

Fifty-three years ago I put on my first pair of Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars. My parents always thought I was an All Star, but as you grow up hopefully you hear that from parents and grandparents on good and even bad days.
This week I held my grandson for the first time. He will also wear Chucks as soon as he leaves the hospital.
Does your kid wear Chuck Taylor All Stars?
